Food safety officials in Rajasthan conducted a surprise raid on the Himal Dairy Products facility in Jaipur as part of the state’s “Shuddh Aahar Milawat Par War” drive. Inspectors entered the premises and discovered approximately 35,000 litres of ghee that did not meet standard purity criteria.
The seized ghee was found packaged under seven different brand names, raising concerns about possible widespread distribution of adulterated product. The authorities confiscated the entire stock and documented the packaging details for further investigation.
Following the discovery, the department ordered the immediate sealing of the plant, halting all production activities until compliance can be verified. Officials indicated that violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act could attract penalties, including fines and revocation of licences.
