Investigations revealed that more than ₹1.63 crore earmarked for the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College between 2020 and 2025 was never deposited into the college’s bank accounts, leading to charges against five individuals and the arrest of three.

Investigations uncovered that the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College failed to deposit more than ₹1.63 crore earmarked for its development between 2020 and 2025. The funds, which were supposed to be transferred into the college’s bank accounts, were diverted or withheld, prompting authorities to file criminal cases. Five individuals, including college officials and staff, were named in the chargesheet, and police arrested three of them on charges of misappropriation and fraud. The case is being examined by the state’s anti-corruption bureau, and the college has been placed under scrutiny to ensure proper use of future allocations.
