Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IUST) in Jammu is set to launch a national-level film festival on October 15, aiming to spotlight both regional and mainstream Indian cinema. The festival will feature a curated selection of short and feature films from across the country, with a focus on emerging filmmakers.
Organizers say the event will provide a platform for dialogue between filmmakers and audiences, and will include workshops, panel discussions, and a closing awards ceremony. The festival is expected to attract students, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts from Jammu & Kashmir and neighboring states.
Screenings will take place in the campus auditorium and an outdoor venue, with the program running for a week. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 7:00 PM on the first day, followed by a series of film screenings and interactive sessions.
IUST’s initiative underscores the institution’s commitment to cultural enrichment and creative expression, positioning Jammu as a growing hub for film and arts in the region.
