Police in Sikar have detained a fugitive ITBP havaldar accused of abducting a young woman, holding her captive for four days and raping her, after her family reported her missing on September 25.
Sikar police announced the arrest of a former Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) havaldar who had been on the run after being linked to a serious crime involving a young woman. The suspect was taken into custody at Chidawa, a locality near Sikar, following a coordinated operation by local law‑enforcement agencies.
According to the police, the woman was reported missing by her relatives on 25 September. Investigators later determined that she had been abducted, kept as a captive for four days, and subjected to sexual assault before being rescued.
Authorities said the arrest was based on corroborating evidence and statements from the victim and her family. The case has been registered under sections pertaining to kidnapping, unlawful confinement, and rape, and the suspect will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
