President Isaac Herzog will formally invite Yair Lapid to form a government on Sunday evening, giving him 28 days to assemble a cabinet, with a possible extension of 14 days.
On Sunday evening, President Isaac Herzog will formally invite Yair Lapid to form a government, the invitation being delivered at 5 pm.
Lapid will have 28 days to assemble a coalition and present a government program to the Knesset, following the standard procedure after a parliamentary election.
If Lapid requires more time, the President can grant an additional 14 days, a provision that has been used in past coalition negotiations.
The move comes after the recent elections where no single party secured a majority, making coalition building essential for a stable government.
