The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a weather outlook indicating isolated rain showers and snowfall in the higher terrains of Jammu and Kashmir. The advisory covers the mountainous zones that lie above the usual snow line, where temperatures are expected to dip sufficiently for snow formation.
According to the forecast, precipitation will be sporadic rather than widespread, affecting pockets of districts such as Ladakh, Kargil and parts of the Pir Panjal range. Rainfall is likely to occur at lower elevations, while snow is anticipated on peaks and passes that exceed 3,000 metres.
