A biker in Damoh suffered neck injuries after an iron sheet from an auto rickshaw became entangled, cutting nerves. He was treated at the district hospital and shifted in serious condition to Jabalpur Medical College, while police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver.
On Friday night, a tragic accident occurred on the Jatashankar Bypass in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, when an iron sheet mounted on an auto‑rickshaw slipped and became lodged in the neck of a motorcyclist identified as Nareesh Yadav. The sudden entanglement severed several cervical nerves, leaving the rider gravely injured.
Emergency services rushed the victim to the district hospital where he received immediate first‑aid. Given the severity of his injuries, doctors stabilized him and arranged a transfer to Jabalpur Medical College for advanced treatment, noting his condition as critical.
Local police arrived at the scene, confiscated the auto‑rickshaw and detained its driver for questioning. The investigation is focused on how the metal sheet became unsecured and caused the fatal entrapment.
Authorities have urged auto‑rickshaw owners to ensure that all cargo and accessories are firmly fastened to prevent similar mishaps in the future.
