The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially dismissed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim of backchannel negotiations with Iran, labeling the assertion as a product of his delusions.
The IRGC released a statement on Tuesday, rejecting former President Donald Trump’s assertion that the United States had engaged in covert talks with Iran. The statement, issued by the organization’s spokesperson, described the claim as a “product of his delusions.”
Trump’s allegation surfaced in a series of remarks made during a post‑presidency interview, in which he suggested that the U.S. had pursued secret negotiations to ease tensions over Iran’s nuclear program.
In its response, the IRGC emphasized that it has never entered into any backchannel discussions with the United States and that it remains committed to safeguarding national security interests. The organization also warned that misinformation could undermine diplomatic efforts.
The denial comes amid heightened scrutiny of U.S.–Iran relations, as both sides navigate complex geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East.
