Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has announced a new pipeline project that will link its Kochi LNG terminal with southern regions of Tamil Nadu. The initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its natural gas distribution network across India.
The pipeline will enable the direct transport of liquefied natural gas from the Kochi terminal to key demand centres in Tamil Nadu, potentially reducing the state's dependence on imported gas and improving supply reliability.
IOC has said the project will be executed in multiple phases, with detailed feasibility studies and environmental clearances to be completed before construction begins. The company has not yet released a definitive timeline for the project.
