Indore Youth Arrested in Turtle Smuggling; 21 Protected Turtles Recovered

A youth was arrested for involvement in an interstate turtle smuggling ring, and the State Tiger Strike Force recovered 21 protected turtles in Indore.
Indore, Madhya Pradesh – In a crackdown on wildlife smuggling, the State Tiger Strike Force (STSF) arrested a youth suspected of participating in an interstate turtle trafficking network.
During the operation, the force recovered 21 protected turtles that had been hidden in a vehicle.
The arrest followed intelligence that linked the suspect, identified as Rounak Juna, to the smuggling ring.
The recovered turtles are to be handed over to the forest department for rehabilitation, and authorities have warned that wildlife trafficking remains a serious offense under the Wildlife (Protection) Act.
