After a three‑day workers’ strike, Indore’s municipal waste‑collection trucks resumed service on Friday morning, clearing the accumulated garbage and leaving streets and lanes visibly clean by noon.
The municipal corporation of Indore announced that the sanitation strike, which began on Monday, was called off on Friday, allowing waste‑collection vehicles to return to their routes. As the trucks began door‑to‑door pickups, crews reported lifting large piles of waste that had built up over the three‑day halt. The rapid removal helped prevent further health and environmental concerns. By early afternoon, most residential colonies and commercial streets showed noticeable improvement, with municipal officials confirming that the regular schedule would continue unless further industrial action is taken. The corporation also urged residents to cooperate by segregating waste and keeping bins accessible to maintain the cleanliness achieved.
