Indore Municipal Corporation is initiating a trial of water-based cold mix asphalt technology for pothole repairs, aiming to address road damage before the monsoon season.

The Indore Municipal Corporation has commenced trials for a novel pothole repair method, utilizing water-based cold mix asphalt. This initiative is a proactive measure to tackle the perennial problem of road damage, particularly during the monsoon season.

Last year, the corporation faced criticism for the condition of city roads, which were riddled with potholes and contributed to accidents. In response, the administration is now exploring advanced techniques to ensure better road maintenance.

The new technology, water-based cold mix asphalt, is being tested for the first time in Indore. This method is expected to allow for patchwork repairs even during rainfall, a significant departure from conventional methods that are often hampered by wet conditions.
