Indore Police Officer Charged with Assaulting Wife and Daughter

A police officer in Indore has been accused of physically assaulting his wife and, when his daughter intervened, also beating her, leading to a formal case being filed.
Indore, Madhya Pradesh – Local law‑enforcement officials have opened a criminal case after a police officer was alleged to have assaulted his wife at their residence. The complaint, filed by the wife, states that the officer physically attacked her without provocation.
According to the filing, the officer's daughter arrived to intervene in the dispute. Instead of de‑escalating the situation, the officer reportedly struck the daughter as well, causing further injury. Both the wife and daughter have provided statements to the investigating officers.
The police department has registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for domestic violence and assault. An inquiry is underway, and the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
