Ahead of Navratri, Indore police have issued a safety alert for women and dispatched a dedicated Women Empowerment Team vehicle to patrol the city.

The Indore police department announced a special safety alert for women ahead of the Navratri celebrations, which run from October 2 to October 10. The alert calls for heightened vigilance in public spaces, markets and transport hubs where large crowds are expected.

A dedicated Women Empowerment Team, equipped with a patrol vehicle, has been dispatched to monitor the city’s streets and respond promptly to any incidents involving women. The team will coordinate with local law enforcement units and community volunteers to ensure rapid assistance.

Police officials have urged citizens to report any suspicious activity and to cooperate with the patrols. The initiative aims to create a secure environment for women participating in Navratri festivities across Indore.

The deployment reflects the city’s broader effort to enhance public safety during major festivals, building on previous experiences where targeted police presence helped deter harassment and crime.

Authorities will continue to assess the situation and may extend the patrols if required, emphasizing that women’s safety remains a priority throughout the celebration period.
