The draft of Indore's new master plan has been prepared and sent to the urban administration department. It outlines an 88,000‑hectare planning area with proposed city expansion towards Airport Road and Ujjain Road, and earmarks a large green belt in the Yashwant Sagar, Machhal and Umri Kheda zones.
The urban development department has completed the draft of Indore's revised master plan and forwarded it to the municipal administration for review. The plan covers a total area of approximately 88,000 hectares, delineating the city's future growth boundaries.
According to the draft, the city's expansion is envisaged primarily along Airport Road and Ujjain Road, aligning with existing transportation corridors to accommodate residential and commercial development.
A significant feature of the proposal is the designation of a substantial green belt spanning the localities of Yashwant Sagar, Machhal and Umri Kheda, aimed at preserving ecological balance and providing recreational spaces.
The draft is now under examination by the concerned authorities, after which it will be made public for stakeholder feedback before final approval.
