A showcase of over 500 photographs by more than 40 photographers was displayed in Indore, while 20 distinguished photographers from India and abroad received titles such as “Master of Malwa.”
Indore’s cultural calendar featured a photography exhibition that brought together more than 40 local and regional photographers. The display comprised over 500 curated images, highlighting diverse themes ranging from urban life to rural landscapes of Madhya Pradesh.
The event also served as a platform to recognize the contributions of senior photographers. Twenty eminent photo‑journalists and artists, hailing from both India and abroad, were presented with honorary titles, the most prominent being “Master of Malwa,” acknowledging their influence on the visual heritage of the region.
Organisers said the dual focus on exhibition and awards aimed to foster a vibrant community of visual storytellers and inspire emerging talent. The ceremony concluded with a brief speech from the chief guest, who praised the role of photography in documenting the state’s cultural evolution.
Attendees, including students, media professionals, and art enthusiasts, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to view a large collection in one venue and to celebrate the legacy of seasoned photographers.
The exhibition is scheduled to remain open for a limited period, after which selected works may be featured in a traveling showcase across other cities in Madhya Pradesh.
