In Indore, traders involved in a gold smuggling ring were arrested after authorities seized gold biscuits from their vehicle. A court has rejected their bail pleas amid a case involving over 90 kg of gold worth more than ₹100 crore.

Police in Indore uncovered a large‑scale gold smuggling operation involving local traders. Over a period of two to three years, the suspects allegedly purchased more than 90 kilograms of gold, with the transaction value exceeding ₹100 crore.

The investigation intensified when authorities seized gold biscuits from the suspects’ vehicle during a routine check. The discovery prompted the arrest of the main accused, who had been operating under the guise of a cash‑gold buyer.

Following the arrests, the accused sought bail in court. However, the judge denied the bail applications, citing the severity of the alleged offense and the risk of tampering with evidence.

The case is now proceeding through the legal system, with law enforcement continuing to probe the extent of the smuggling network and its connections to other illicit gold transactions in the region.
