Indore: Elephant Gets Bail

In a unique case, an elephant that was involved in the death of a youth in Indore's Raja Nagar area has been granted bail by a local court. The court has ordered that the elephant be handed over to a group of sadhus until the final verdict is delivered. However, the elephant is not allowed to be taken out of the city. The owner and mahout of the elephant have been held responsible for the incident and have been sent to jail. The incident had occurred when the elephant was being fed jaggery, leading to it running amok and trampling the youth to death.
