IndiGo announced that it will commence direct bi‑weekly services linking Patna in Bihar with Thailand starting 26 October, aiming to boost travel and trade ties.

IndiGo, India's largest low‑cost carrier, said it will begin operating direct flights between Patna and Thailand on 26 October. The service will run twice a week, offering passengers a non‑stop connection that previously required a layover in another Indian city.

The airline highlighted that the new route is part of its strategy to expand regional connectivity and cater to growing demand from both leisure and business travelers in eastern India. By linking Bihar's capital with major Thai destinations, IndiGo expects to facilitate tourism, education exchanges, and trade activities.

The flights will depart from Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Airport in Patna and land at a primary international airport in Thailand, with the exact destination yet to be disclosed. IndiGo has not announced ticket pricing, but the carrier indicated that fares will be competitive to attract a broad customer base.

Industry analysts view the move as a positive signal for Bihar's economic development, as improved air links can attract investment and make the state more accessible to international visitors.

The airline will monitor passenger response and may adjust frequency or add more destinations in the region based on demand.
