Vaishnavi Sharma surged 53 places to secure the 94th spot in the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its latest women’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings, showing a notable rise for India’s young spinner Vaishnavi Sharma. The 22‑year‑old bowler moved up 53 places to land at 94th position, marking her highest placement to date.
Sharma’s ascent reflects a series of consistent performances in recent bilateral series, where she has contributed crucial overs in the middle phase of the innings. While she remains outside the top‑50, the jump underscores her growing impact on the Indian side’s spin attack.
Cricket analysts note that breaking into the top‑100 is a significant milestone for emerging players, and Sharma’s progress could pave the way for more regular inclusion in the senior squad for upcoming tournaments.
The ICC rankings are updated weekly, and any further improvement will depend on Sharma’s performances in the forthcoming series against Australia and England later this year.
