Indian Railways Approves Direct Ludhiana–Jind Train Service

Indian Railways has approved a new direct passenger train linking Ludhiana with Jind, a move aimed at enhancing regional connectivity. The service will cover the roughly 120‑kilometre stretch between the two Punjab cities, with plans for a single daily run. The decision follows a demand survey that highlighted the need for faster travel options for commuters and traders. Officials said the timetable will be released shortly, and the train will operate under the existing Ludhiana–Jind corridor. The new service is expected to reduce travel time and boost economic ties between the districts.
