Police in India rescued a baby that had been abducted as part of a suspected ritual sacrifice scheme, and an investigation is underway.
Police officials announced today that they have successfully rescued an infant who was taken by a group suspected of planning a ritual sacrifice. The child was recovered after a coordinated operation that began after the kidnapping was reported to authorities.
Investigators said the abduction appeared to be part of a larger scheme aimed at performing a ceremonial killing, a motive that is being treated as a serious criminal offence. The police have detained several suspects and are collecting forensic evidence to build a case.
The rescued infant is now under the care of child welfare services, and the family has been informed of the safe recovery. Law enforcement agencies have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could be linked to similar rituals.
The case highlights growing concerns over fringe religious practices that involve violence, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and community outreach to prevent such crimes in the future.
