An Indian-origin couple survived the recent Nepal floods after they jumped off a stranded bus and climbed 500 steps to reach higher ground.

During the recent monsoon floods that have affected large parts of Nepal, an Indian-origin couple found themselves trapped on a bus that was unable to move through the swollen river. Faced with rising water, the couple decided to disembark and seek higher ground.

They descended into a narrow ravine and began a steep climb of approximately 500 steps, moving through debris and flooded streets. The arduous trek took them several hours, but they eventually reached a safer area on elevated terrain.

Local authorities later confirmed that the couple had reached a safe zone and were receiving medical attention. Their escape has been highlighted as a testament to human resilience amid natural disasters.

The incident underscores the challenges faced by travelers in flood-prone regions and the importance of timely evacuation plans.
