India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal confirmed that the India‑US trade agreement will be concluded after taking into account the evolving global and domestic conditions.

India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the long‑awaited India‑US trade pact will be finalised after incorporating the latest changes in global and domestic scenarios. The statement was made during a press briefing following the recent trade negotiations between the two countries.
Goyal highlighted that the agreement will reflect adjustments in tariff schedules, intellectual property norms and market access provisions, ensuring it remains relevant in the current economic climate. He added that both governments are committed to completing the process within the next few weeks.
The pact is expected to boost bilateral trade, which has been growing steadily, and to open new opportunities for Indian exporters in the United States. Analysts note that the updated terms could strengthen supply chains and enhance investment flows.
The next phase will involve final legal drafting and ratification by the respective parliaments, after which the agreement will be signed in a formal ceremony.
