India were bowled out for a low total in the fourth T20 International, losing by 87 runs. Shreyas Iyer said the side fell short in its bowling performance.
India's campaign in the four‑match T20 International series suffered a setback on Saturday as the team was bundled out for a modest total and lost by 87 runs. The defeat, recorded in the fourth game of the series, widened the gap between the sides and left India trailing in the contest.
Mid‑order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who captained the side, addressed the post‑match press conference, acknowledging that the bowlers could not apply sufficient pressure on the opposition. He highlighted missed lengths and a lack of consistency as key factors that allowed the opponents to chase down the target comfortably.
The loss also raised questions about India's bowling combinations ahead of the remaining fixtures, with the coaching staff expected to review the game plan and consider changes to the attack. Despite the setback, the team remains hopeful of bouncing back in the final match of the series.
The Siasat Daily reported the statements, noting that Iyer's candid assessment reflects the team's intent to rectify the shortcomings and improve performance in the upcoming games.
