India have named a Gujarat Titans player as cover for the injured wicket‑keeper Ishan Kishan ahead of the second T20I against New Zealand.
India’s national squad for the second T20I against New Zealand has been updated to include a player from the Gujarat Titans franchise.
The change comes after wicket‑keeper Ishan Kishan sustained an injury that ruled him out of the match. The selectors have therefore added a Gujarat Titans player as cover to ensure the team remains balanced.
No further details about the player’s identity or the exact nature of Kishan’s injury have been released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The decision was announced by the national team’s management ahead of the series.
India will face New Zealand at the start of the second T20I, with the squad now comprising the usual core players plus the newly added cover. The team’s performance will be closely watched as the series progresses.
