The Indian government has warned that the People's Liberation Army's regular patrols along the Line of Actual Control are unsettling the border and could heighten tensions.

New Delhi – The Ministry of Defence conveyed that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been conducting frequent patrols along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), a pattern that the government says is disturbing the status quo on the contested frontier. Officials highlighted that the patrols often involve large contingents moving close to Indian positions, creating a sense of unease among troops stationed in the region.

The statement, released through official channels, noted that such behaviour increases the risk of inadvertent clashes and undermines confidence‑building measures that both sides have previously pursued. While no specific incidents were cited, the government emphasized that the continued presence of PLA units in proximity to Indian posts is a matter of strategic concern.

In response, New Delhi has urged Beijing to exercise restraint and adhere to agreed protocols for border management. Diplomatic engagements are reportedly underway to address the issue, with the aim of preventing escalation and preserving peace along the Himalayan frontier.
