New Delhi has formally rejected a draft resolution by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation that highlighted the Jammu and Kashmir issue, stating it undermines India's territorial integrity.

New Delhi issued a statement on Thursday refusing to endorse a draft resolution presented by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that referenced the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian government described the document as "politically motivated" and contrary to the country's sovereign rights.

The OIC, a coalition of 57 Muslim-majority nations, had sought to draw international attention to human rights concerns in the region. India, however, reiterated that any external commentary on the matter must respect its constitutional position and the outcomes of the 2019 revocation of Article 370.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that India will continue to engage with global partners on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference, urging the OIC to focus on constructive dialogue rather than unilateral resolutions.

The rejection comes amid heightened diplomatic activity surrounding South Asia, with several countries monitoring the evolving security dynamics in the Himalayas. India’s stance underscores its commitment to safeguarding national interests while maintaining its broader foreign policy objectives.
