New Delhi has dismissed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's references to Jammu and Kashmir and called on the bloc to advise Pakistan against interference.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs issued a formal statement rejecting recent remarks by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that referenced the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.
The government described the OIC’s comments as unwarranted interference in India’s internal affairs and reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir remains an integral part of the nation.
New Delhi also appealed to the Islamic bloc to use its diplomatic influence to counsel Pakistan to refrain from actions that could destabilise the region, emphasizing the importance of dialogue based on mutual respect.
The statement arrived amid a series of diplomatic exchanges after Pakistan repeatedly sought international attention on the Kashmir issue, with India insisting that any concerns be addressed through bilateral mechanisms.
