The Ministry of External Affairs has appointed Dr. K Srikar Reddy as India’s next ambassador to Qatar, effective from July 2024. Reddy, a career diplomat, will replace the incumbent ambassador.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced on Tuesday that Dr. K Srikar Reddy will serve as India’s ambassador to Qatar, taking charge in July 2024.
Reddy, a seasoned diplomat, has held senior positions in the Indian Foreign Service, including postings in Washington, New Delhi and Doha.
India and Qatar have deepened ties over the past decade, with growing trade, energy cooperation and a sizable Indian expatriate community in the Gulf state.
The appointment is part of India’s strategy to strengthen diplomatic engagement in the Gulf region amid rising economic and security cooperation.
