The inaugural day of India International Water Week 2026 commenced today in Delhi, gathering policymakers, industry leaders and researchers to discuss water security and sustainable management.
Delhi welcomed the opening ceremony of India International Water Week 2026 today. The three‑day event, organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in partnership with the Central Water Commission, aims to showcase innovations and policy frameworks for water management.
Delegates include senior government officials, representatives from state water agencies, private‑sector firms, NGOs and academic institutions. Key sessions will address water scarcity, climate‑resilient infrastructure, wastewater reuse and financing mechanisms.
A technology expo runs alongside the forum, where startups and established companies demonstrate treatment technologies, smart metering and data‑analytics solutions. Organisers expect the platform to foster collaborations that accelerate India’s goal of achieving water security by 2030.
The week will conclude with a policy summit that intends to draft recommendations for the upcoming revision of the National Water Policy.
