India's national cricket team slipped in the World Test Championship standings after a defeat to West Indies.
India lost a Test match to West Indies, causing the national side to slip in the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings.
The WTC is a league format that awards points for wins, draws and losses across a series of Test matches. A defeat reduces a team's point total and can shift its position in the table.
With the loss, India now has fewer points than it had before the match, affecting its standing relative to other teams in the competition.
The outcome may influence India’s chances of qualifying for the WTC final, which will be contested by the top two teams in the standings.
