India has deployed additional police forces and imposed transport restrictions across key routes in preparation for a large‑scale protest scheduled for tomorrow.
India’s government announced today that it has deployed additional police units across major transit corridors in anticipation of a large protest slated for tomorrow. The deployment includes both local police and additional forces from the central security apparatus.
In parallel, authorities have imposed restrictions on public transport services. Bus and train schedules on key routes have been curtailed, and certain roads have been closed to private vehicles to reduce congestion and potential clashes.
The measures aim to ensure public safety and maintain order during the protest, which is expected to attract a significant number of participants. Police officials have stated that the deployment is precautionary and part of a broader strategy to manage crowd control.
Officials have urged commuters to seek alternative routes and to stay updated on official advisories. The government has also set up additional checkpoints at strategic points along the protest route.
