At the UN Human Rights Council, India denounced Pakistan for alleged persecution of minorities and support for terror in Jammu & Kashmir.
India’s delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Council raised serious concerns about Pakistan’s role in alleged human‑rights abuses in Jammu & Kashmir. The Indian representatives highlighted reports of minority persecution and alleged support for terrorist activities emanating from across the Line of Control.
In its statement, New Delhi urged the council to hold Pakistan accountable for violations that threaten regional stability and the safety of vulnerable communities. The delegation called for a thorough investigation and for the international community to condemn any actions that undermine the rights of Kashmiri residents.
India also appealed to member states to reinforce existing UN resolutions on counter‑terrorism and to ensure that any state sponsoring violence faces diplomatic repercussions. The remarks came amid heightened tensions between the two neighbours over cross‑border incidents and the broader dispute over the status of Jammu & Kashmir.
