The India Meteorological Department announced that the monsoon withdrawal is being delayed due to western disturbances, with rainfall likely to continue until October 12.

IMD issued an update stating that the monsoon's retreat from the Indian subcontinent is being held back by active western disturbances moving across the north.

As a result, many regions are experiencing intermittent showers and the department forecasts that this pattern could persist, keeping the monsoon active up to the second week of October.

The agency advised residents and farmers to stay updated with local forecasts and take necessary precautions against possible waterlogging or delayed harvesting.
