IMD predicts heavy rain across 20 states, with intense showers in UP, MP and Uttarakhand

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released its weather outlook for tomorrow, indicating that rain will spread across roughly 20 states nationwide. The agency highlighted that the western and central belt will see the most pronounced precipitation. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand are expected to experience very heavy showers, with rainfall intensity likely to exceed normal monsoon levels.

Meteorologists warned that the widespread rain could disrupt travel, especially on highways and rail routes passing through the affected regions. Flood‑prone districts in the three states may see waterlogging, prompting local authorities to ready emergency response teams and monitor river levels closely.

The IMD advised residents to stay updated through official bulletins, avoid unnecessary outings during peak downpours, and secure property against potential water damage. Farmers were urged to protect standing crops, while commuters were asked to check road conditions before embarking on journeys.
