The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the state of West Bengal, signaling the onset of severe weather conditions. This alert indicates a high probability of heavy rainfall and strong winds that could disrupt daily life and transportation networks across the region.
In response to the deteriorating weather situation, railway authorities have cancelled multiple train services to ensure passenger safety. The cancellations are part of standard safety protocols implemented during high-risk weather events to prevent accidents on tracks that may be affected by waterlogging or structural instability.
Residents and travelers in West Bengal are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel during the alert period. Local administration and disaster management teams are on high alert to handle any emergencies arising from the adverse weather conditions.
