The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall across eastern Madhya Pradesh, signalling a high likelihood of intense showers.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday released an orange alert covering the eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh, warning of heavy rainfall in the coming days.
An orange alert denotes a high probability of widespread, intense precipitation that could lead to localized flooding, waterlogging and disruption to transport and power supply.
Authorities in the affected region have been advised to activate emergency response teams, clear drainage channels and keep residents informed about safety measures.
The public is urged to stay updated through official bulletins, avoid low‑lying areas during heavy downpours and cooperate with local officials if evacuation orders are issued.
