Shubham Sumit, who previously graduated from IIT Bombay with a degree in chemical engineering, has achieved significant recognition at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2026. He earned the Silver Conch award for his short fiction film titled 'Small Clouds'.

The award-winning film is a diploma project from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Sumit had reportedly chosen to pursue his passion for filmmaking at FTII over campus placements following his engineering studies at IIT Bombay.
