The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad has inaugurated a state‑of‑the‑art electroencephalography lab aimed at accelerating research in cognitive neuroscience.
The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT‑Hyderabad) opened a cutting‑edge electroencephalography (EEG) laboratory on Tuesday, marking a significant step toward advanced cognitive neuroscience studies in India.
The new facility houses high‑density EEG caps, advanced signal‑processing software, and real‑time data‑analysis tools that allow researchers to monitor brain activity with unprecedented precision.
Researchers plan to use the lab for projects ranging from memory and attention studies to brain‑computer interface development, with the goal of translating findings into clinical and educational applications.
Dr. R. K. Sinha, director of IIIT‑Hyderabad, said the lab would foster interdisciplinary collaborations and attract national and international talent to the campus.
