ICRA forecasts a moderation in passenger vehicle wholesale volumes for fiscal year 2027, even as the segment recorded a 29% growth during April‑August of the current fiscal year.
ICRA’s latest outlook suggests that passenger vehicle wholesale volumes are expected to ease in FY27. The projection comes despite a strong performance in the first five months of the current fiscal year, where wholesale sales grew by 29 percent compared to the same period last year.
The agency noted that the Apr‑Aug growth reflects a temporary surge driven by festive demand and new model launches. However, underlying factors such as rising ownership costs and slower rural demand could temper the momentum in the coming fiscal year.
Industry analysts say the forecast signals a need for manufacturers to focus on cost‑effective offerings and after‑sales support to sustain growth beyond the short‑term uptick.
