Hyderabad police have detained four individuals suspected of illegally scalping tickets for the upcoming India‑West Indies T20I match.
Hyderabad law‑enforcement officials announced the arrest of four persons accused of black‑marketing tickets for the forthcoming India‑West Indies Twenty‑20 International cricket match. The suspects were apprehended during a raid conducted by the city police, who said the operation was part of a broader effort to curb illegal ticket sales ahead of high‑profile sporting events.
According to the police statement, the arrested individuals were involved in a network that purchased tickets at face value and resold them at inflated prices, exploiting the strong demand for the international fixture. Authorities have seized the tickets and related cash, and the case will be forwarded to the cyber‑crime wing for further investigation.
The crackdown comes as the cricket board and event organizers have warned fans about counterfeit tickets and urged the public to buy only through authorized channels. Police have urged anyone aware of similar activities to report them to the nearest police station.
