Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that a new waste-to-charcoal facility in Hubballi will be fully operational by 2027, creating over 200 jobs and marking a first for South India.

A significant waste-to-charcoal plant located in Hubballi is slated to become fully operational for public use by the year 2027. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi shared that the facility represents a pioneering initiative for South India, being the first of its kind to commence operations within the state.

The project is projected to generate employment opportunities for over 200 individuals. The National Thermal Power Corporation (NVVN) subsidiary, which is overseeing the plant, will allocate approximately ₹11 crore annually towards its maintenance, ensuring its long-term functionality and efficiency.
