Houses Torched in Abandoned Manipur Village Amid Ethnic Tensions

In an abandoned village in Manipur, several houses were set on fire during a flare‑up of ethnic tensions. Local police reported that the blaze was started by unidentified individuals, though no group has claimed responsibility.

The incident has heightened concerns among community leaders about rising inter‑ethnic hostility in the region. Authorities have deployed additional security forces to the area and are conducting an investigation into the motive.

The village, largely deserted, has been a site of sporadic clashes in the past, and the latest attack underscores the fragile security situation in parts of Manipur.
