The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heat‑humidity advisory for the entire state of Telangana, warning that temperatures will remain high and moisture levels elevated through September 12.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather outlook on Tuesday indicating that Telangana will experience sustained hot and humid conditions until September 12. The forecast covers the whole state, from the Deccan plateau to the coastal districts, and does not single out any isolated region.

Temperatures are projected to hover between 35 °C and 40 °C during the day, while relative humidity is expected to stay above 70 % in many areas, especially in the morning and evening hours. Such a combination can intensify the perceived heat, raising the heat‑index values to uncomfortable levels.

Health officials have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and limit strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours. Vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and patients with chronic illnesses, are urged to seek cooler indoor environments whenever possible.

The advisory follows a gradual retreat of the monsoon trough, which has left the region with clear skies and reduced cloud cover, further contributing to the rise in temperature and humidity. Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates if conditions change.
