The Karnataka horticulture department is conducting free soil tests for farmers and issuing digital soil health cards that recommend appropriate fertilizers to preserve land fertility.

The horticulture department of Karnataka has launched a soil health card campaign aimed at preserving the fertility of agricultural lands.

As part of the initiative, officials visit farmers' fields, conduct free soil testing, and analyse nutrient content.

Based on the results, a digital soil health card is issued to each farmer, detailing the type and quantity of fertilizer recommended for optimal crop yield.

The department says the program will help farmers adopt balanced nutrient management, improve productivity, and reduce unnecessary fertilizer use.

The campaign is being rolled out across the state, targeting small and marginal farmers.
