Home Minister Amit Shah issued a directive to India’s internal security agencies, urging them to intensify efforts aimed at preventing infiltration across the nation’s borders. The order was conveyed in a meeting that highlighted the growing complexity of cross‑border threats and the need for a more robust response.
Shah emphasized that traditional counter‑infiltration measures must be complemented by modern technology, specifically artificial intelligence, to detect and neutralise emerging security risks. He noted that AI‑driven analytics can enhance surveillance, pattern‑recognition and rapid decision‑making in sensitive zones.
The minister asked the Ministry of Home Affairs, intelligence outfits and state police forces to develop a coordinated framework for AI integration, while maintaining vigilance on ground operations. Agencies are expected to submit implementation plans within the stipulated timeline, aligning with the broader national security agenda.
