In Chhattisgarh, local Hindus cited a Supreme Court ruling to prevent Christian burials at a Hindu cremation site, prompting Christian missionary groups to protest the move.
A Hindu community in Chhattisgarh has invoked a Supreme Court verdict to bar Christian burials at a local cremation ground, sparking a protest from Christian missionary groups.
The decision, which the Hindus say protects the sanctity of the cremation site, has been met with criticism from Christian leaders who argue that it violates the right to burial.
Missionary groups have staged demonstrations outside the cremation site, demanding that the Supreme Court ruling be reconsidered and that Christian burial rights be respected.
The incident has raised questions about interfaith harmony and the application of court orders in matters of religious practice across the state.
