On Tuesday, Hindu organisations called for a shutdown of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh over the Bhojshala controversy, leading to closure of markets and deployment of 800 police personnel.
The Hindu community in Madhya Pradesh announced a district-wide shutdown in Dhar on Tuesday, protesting the ongoing Bhojshala controversy. The call, issued by the Sakal Hindu Samaj, urged residents to keep all commercial activities halted until the issue is resolved.
Following the appeal, shops, markets and other business establishments across Dhar and surrounding areas remained closed throughout the day. The shutdown disrupted normal trade, with many traders complying with the protest directive.
To maintain law and order amid the large-scale closure, authorities deployed approximately 800 police personnel across the district. The police presence was intended to prevent any untoward incidents and to manage crowd movements as the protest unfolded.
