Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term on Tuesday, marking a continuation of his leadership after the recent assembly elections.

In a ceremony held in Guwahati, Himanta Biswa Sarma took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Assam, following his party’s victory in the state elections. The oath was administered by the Governor of Assam, who formally entrusted Sarma with the responsibilities of leading the state.

Sarma, who previously served as the Minister of Education and later as the Minister of Finance, is expected to continue his focus on development initiatives and infrastructure projects that were highlighted during his first term. He also pledged to strengthen Assam’s economic growth and address key issues such as agriculture and rural development.

The swearing‑in event was attended by senior political leaders, party members, and officials from various ministries. The ceremony underscored the confidence placed in Sarma by the electorate and his party’s leadership.
